Notedigit

Single source of knowledge in Git, distributed everywhere you need it.

Notedigit runs on your own VPS. It turns a private Git repository of Markdown notes into a secure, OAuth-authenticated MCP server that Claude, ChatGPT, your IDE or any other MCP client can read.

Connect one repo, not your whole drive.

Pasting docs into chat doesn't scale, and every assistant starts from zero. Broad drive connectors expose far more than you meant to share and rarely show who read what. Notedigit gives assistants one repository, three read-only tools, and a record of every note they touched.

For teams that keep their knowledge in Markdown

  • CTOs and tech leads
  • Developer-founders building with agents
  • Team leads who own policies, playbooks and plans
  • Solo users with a private notes repository

From your repository to every assistant

  1. 01

    Connect the repo

Notedigit generates a read-only deploy key. Add it to your git host, paste the repository's SSH URL and branch, and Check connection verifies access.

  2. 02

    Assign your people

Accounts are by invitation only, and reading is granted per person, per repository. Joining the team grants nothing by itself.

  3. 03

Add the MCP to any client

Each repository has one endpoint. Paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or your IDE as a custom connector, and OAuth 2.1 discovery configures the rest. Custom agents use a personal access token.

  4. 04

    The assistant reads

The first call clones the branch as a bare, shallow mirror on your server. The assistant searches and reads the notes as files, and the mirror is deleted after 15 idle minutes.

  5. 05

    Everything is on the record

Every session and tool call is logged with client, user, tool, arguments, status and duration, kept for 90 days and filterable by repository, user and date.

Read-only by construction

Three tools. Write tools don't exist.

search, read_file and list_files are the only tools the server registers. There is no write path to misconfigure or escalate into.

Markdown only

Only .md and .markdown files are ever listed, searched or read. Code, images and configs in the same repository are never enumerated.

No index to rebuild

No embeddings and no vector store. The tools read straight from git's object store, so you push to the branch and a new session reads it.

Encrypted under two keys

Repository URLs, deploy keys and tool-call arguments are encrypted with the app key plus a separate data key kept outside the project. A database dump and a leaked .env are not enough to read them.

Nothing is sent to us

Notes, accounts and the audit log stay on your server. There is no license check and no phone-home.
